Experiencing the scouting program is one of the best experience a new scout could have especially if it will be his first time attending a school camp with all the camping materials and tent prepared for 2 days fun-filled school camp of Dampas Elementary School, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Education for all had been one of the focus advocates of the national government especially that education is a valuable asset for the development of our youth today. With this aim, the local CMS Bohol Team which is mostly composed of members from the National Alliance of Youth Volunteers, Inc. initiated the CheckmySchool Project in Barangay Dampas with the support of the Affiliated Network of Social Accountability in East Asia and Pacific, the one responsible in formulating the CMS Project.
Volunteerism had been the most effective way to build our community today with the help of our youth but there is one thing that always linger in everyone's mind especially to people who aren't familiar with volunteerism on what volunteers could gain in taking part of the different volunteering projects. One thing also more common on Pilipinos is that they always associate volunteerism to "stipend or allowance" in doing and taking part with the activity. Yes, it is true that being a member and volunteer of the National Alliance of Youth Volunteers, Inc and in any other volunteer opportunity activities, we could not afford to give allowances, stipend nor money for all the services volunteers render because no amount could equal their value since VOLUNTEERS are PRICELESS.
The Boy Scouts of the Philippines had been an institution that serves for the development of the boys in their social, emotional and leadership aspect. The movement caters to the different needs of its members and trains them to be the next abiding citizen of our country. The Court of Honor was held in the walls of Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School.
The University of Bohol showed great optimism in partnering with the Ateneo School of Government and Affiliated Network for Social Accountability in East Asia and Pacific together with the National Alliance of Scout Volunteers in promoting the Check My School Project in the Tagbilaran City and Bohol Division.
What is survival?
What does the word survival mean to you? Struggling in the wilderness or living for days in an open sea? That is partly correct but for scouting, it has other definition. Survival means knowing how to stay alive in the wilderness, which may not be so encouraging but it means a lot for a scout. Survival Camps prepare them for whatever emergency situation that he/she will faced throughout his/her life.
